Fish idea generator
A prompt is easier to draw than a blank canvas. Pick a body and palette, generate the rest, then use the brief as a starting point in Drawquarium’s editor. Nothing here is game data — it is a creative constraint.

How to use it
Open the Drawquarium editor, choose the closest body template, block in the three colours, then add the pattern and the quirk. Change anything that does not work — the brief is a starting point, not a rule.

How to use the brief
Constraints make better fish
A blank canvas invites you to draw the same fish you always draw. A brief forces a decision: this one is round, these three colours, this quirk. If the result is ugly, you have still learned something about what you like.
- 01
Pick the body first
Match the template to the brief’s silhouette. A round fish with eel fins will look confused; commit to the shape.
- 02
Use all three colours, and only three
Base, belly or fin, pattern. If you add a fourth, make it the eye highlight.
- 03
Draw the quirk last
A tiny hat or mismatched eye is a finishing move. It should not fight the silhouette.
- 04
Name it before you place it
A name makes it a character. The game gives fish personal quotes; a good name fits one.
