Editorial policy
Facts first. Guesses labelled.
A guide to an unreleased game is mostly a guide to uncertainty. These are the rules we use to keep that uncertainty visible instead of turning it into confident-sounding filler.
Evidence levels
Every substantive claim on the site should be traceable to a source listed at the bottom of the page. We use five labels:
Official
A direct statement or record from the developer, publisher or Steam store listing.
Example: “Breeding was added in the September 2026 update.”
Demo build
Visible in the public demo or an official development screenshot, but not necessarily in the released build.
Example: The editor’s eye-stamp library.
Press report
A dated hands-on report from a named publication. Useful context, not a promise about the final build.
Example: PC Gamer’s description of the metallic shimmer.
Not confirmed
A reasonable question with no published answer. We name the gap instead of filling it.
Example: Whether demo aquariums transfer to the full game.
Our take
Advice or interpretation, clearly separated from factual claims.
Example: Which Golden Scale unlocks are worth buying first.
What we will not publish
- Invented numbers. No fake drop rates, feeding cooldowns, level curves, prices, player counts or review scores.
- Fabricated quotes or experiences. We do not claim to have played a build we have not played.
- Fake patch notes. Before release there is no changelog; after release, entries require an official post or a verified build change.
- Keyword-only pages. We do not create a page for every fish, item or location before those things exist in the game.
- Manufactured urgency. No “updated today” badges on unchanged pages, and no countdown to an hour that was never announced.
Update and correction policy
Pages carry a fact-check date. It changes when the substance changes, not when we fix a typo. When a claim is corrected, the page keeps the corrected information and the source list reflects the evidence. If a correction changes the conclusion of a guide, we note it in the page’s text.
Release-day coverage will separate what we verified in the released build from what the store page claims. If the build contradicts the marketing, the build wins and we say so.
AI assistance
We use research tools and AI-assisted drafting. That does not lower the evidence bar: a sentence is not published as fact because a model produced it. Claims are checked against primary sources, uncertain details are labelled, and the source list is part of the page. If you find a claim that does not match its source, tell us and we will fix it.
Images and trademarks
Official screenshots and key art are used for identification, commentary and review, with credit to byKaleb and rokaplay. We do not claim ownership of them. Original diagrams, sketch sheets and tool graphics are ours. Drawquarium and its logo are trademarks of Kaleb Lechowski. This site is not affiliated with the developer, publisher or Valve.
Advertising
The site currently has no display advertising and no affiliate links. If advertising is added, it will be clearly separated from editorial content. Advertisers will not get input into guides, rankings or recommendations. We will update this policy before ads go live.
Report an error
Email hello@drawquariumguide.wiki with the URL, the sentence and the source you believe is correct. Corrections are our priority; they are also the only way a guide to an evolving game stays useful.
