Frequently asked questions

The questions people actually ask

Short answers, sourced. Where the developer has not said, the answer says so instead of guessing. Last checked November 1, 2026.

01

Release, price and platforms

The questions that decide whether you can play it yet — and where.

When does Drawquarium release?

The planned release date is November 13, 2026 on Steam for Windows PC. The date was announced on October 26, 2026. An exact unlock hour was not included in that announcement, so a date-only countdown is the honest version.

How much does Drawquarium cost?

The price has not been announced. Steam lists the full game as a paid product rather than a free one, but no amount, pre-order or edition has been published. The demo is free.

Is Drawquarium free?

Only the demo is free. The full game is a paid Steam listing. There is no official browser version of the Steam game.

Official Demo guide →

Which platforms are supported?

Windows PC through Steam. Steam’s platform flags list Windows only; macOS and Linux are not supported. No official PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or mobile version has been announced.

Does Drawquarium support Mac?

No Mac version is listed on Steam. A community thread asks about Mac support, but a request is not an announcement. Do not plan on Boot Camp or a wrapper as an official solution.

Official

Is there a Steam Deck rating?

No Steam Deck compatibility rating was published when we checked. The game is a Windows title with a desktop-wallpaper mode, so handheld behaviour is an open question rather than a confirmed feature.

Not confirmed

Which languages does the game support?

The Steam listing shows eight interface languages: English, French, German, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Russian. The store table does not list full audio or subtitles for any of them.

02

Gameplay and systems

What you actually do in the tank, based on official descriptions and clearly labelled press impressions.

What is Drawquarium?

A single-player aquarium sandbox for Windows. You draw or import fish and plants, place them in a tank, feed and raise them, decorate the scene, collect Golden Scales for unlocks, and can keep the aquarium running as an animated desktop wallpaper.

Do I need drawing skills?

No. The game includes ready-made fish, body templates, eye and fin stamps, fill tools and an idea generator. A simple shape with an eye can work, and imported PNGs are supported. Skill changes how unusual your tank looks, not whether you can play.

Can fish die if I do not feed them?

We have not found an official statement that says fish can die. The store text says fish can grow, form relationships and that neglected relationships can turn sour; it also says leftover food and debris need cleaning. It does not describe starvation or death. Treat “fish cannot die” as unverified too.

Not confirmed Fish care guide →

How do fish grow?

Fish start small and grow as you feed and care for them. A profile card in the store screenshots shows a level and age in days. The exact experience thresholds and feeding cooldowns have not been published, so we do not list them as facts.

Can fish breed and have babies?

Yes. The developer’s September 2026 update lists reproduction and baby fish. The in-game goal list also shows “Make a fish baby!” as an objective. The exact pairing requirements are not published.

What is a golden fish?

The store says well-cared-for fish gain a metallic shimmer as they age, and that you may eventually find a golden fish in your aquarium. The precise conditions are unknown. PC Gamer reported that none of its fish turned gold during its demo session.

What are Golden Scales used for?

Golden Scales are the progression currency. They unlock brushes, templates, decorations and customisation options. One official screenshot shows a template priced at 2 scales, but there is no published master price list.

Can I import my own drawing?

Yes. The store page says any PNG image can be imported and become part of the aquarium, including a child’s drawing. Practical details such as maximum resolution and supported transparency are not documented, so test with a modest transparent PNG first.

Does it have multiplayer or co-op?

No. Steam lists single-player only, and no online or local co-op mode has been announced. Multiple people can share the same PC and tank, but that is not networked multiplayer.

Official

Is there a goal list or story?

There is a task list of gameplay goals. It gives the sandbox direction without turning it into a linear story. The developer described it as “a clearer path through the game while still letting you play at your own pace.”

Can I use the aquarium as a desktop wallpaper?

Yes. Wallpaper Mode keeps the tank on the Windows desktop behind open windows, and the store says you can observe, feed and play with fish there. Audio behaviour and multi-monitor support are less documented.

Does Drawquarium have Steam achievements?

No achievements were listed in the Steam app data we checked. That can change at or after release, so check the store page rather than relying on this answer.

03

Demo and save data

The free demo is a separate Steam app. These are the limits worth knowing before you invest hours in a drawing.

How do I play the Drawquarium demo?

Install the free Drawquarium Demo from Steam (app 4331760). It is a separate download from the full game and does not require a pre-order.

Official Demo guide →

Is the demo the same as the full game?

No. The demo has a reduced feature set. The developer said the Next Fest build had more features unlocked and that the demo would be downgraded to a smaller “demo-like” set afterwards. Some tools shown in trailers may be unavailable in the current demo.

Will my demo fish transfer to the full game?

We found no official confirmation of demo-to-full save transfer. Treat it as unconfirmed and keep your own source images. Do not copy save folders from another game’s guide; save paths and formats are game-specific.

Not confirmed Save-transfer status →

Why did the demo launch a day late?

The developer’s April 17, 2026 post says the store submission failed because a required image was missing. The demo arrived on April 18, 2026.

04

Family and safety

Useful if the tank is mainly for children or a shared living-room PC.

Is Drawquarium suitable for children?

The Steam record has no content descriptors and is tagged Family Friendly, with no age gate. It is a single-player drawing sandbox, so the main risks are ordinary PC concerns: screen time, purchases on the Steam account, and what images are imported. There is no confirmed online sharing or chat.

Can children add paper drawings?

Yes, by scanning or photographing the drawing, saving it as a PNG, and importing it. The game explicitly mentions bringing a child’s drawing into the tank. A clean, evenly lit photo with a plain background will import more predictably than a shadowed one.

Does Drawquarium support Family Sharing?

Steam lists Family Sharing as supported. That lets eligible accounts in a Steam Family share the game, subject to Steam’s own rules. It is not the same as multiple players sharing one live tank at the same time.

Names, sources and this site

Drawarium, Drawquarium and a pile of similar search results.

Is Drawarium the same game as Drawquarium?

They appear to be different products. Drawarium is a web/TV aquarium product where children draw fish and send them to a TV. Drawquarium is the Windows Steam game by byKaleb and rokaplay. We found no official statement connecting the two.

Press report Full comparison →

What is the official Drawquarium website?

The Steam listing’s official website link points to rokaplay.com, the publisher. The developer also posts on Steam and the rokaplay Discord. This site is an independent guide and is not the official site.

How does this site handle unconfirmed information?

Every guide labels claims as confirmed by an official source, reported by press, observed in the demo, or unknown. We do not invent patch notes, prices, fish stats or review scores. The editorial policy explains the process.

Still unknown

The price, exact unlock hour, demo-save transfer, Steam Deck rating, population limit and golden-fish conditions are not published. We will update this page when they are confirmed — not before.
